SEAPCO - Special Education Association of Peoria County 

We serve the 17 school districts outside of Peoria Public Schools.  Welcome to our website!  You will find we offer a variety of services to meet your child’s individual needs, and these services are delivered in the setting that most closely matches their peers.  We encourage parents and caregivers to stay in close contact with their teacher and related service personnel.  Together we are a team that is devoted to serving the needs of your student, so communication is vital to smooth and steady progress.  Our mission: To partner with member districts and families to prepare students with diverse educational needs to be productive citizens in society. 

 

 

 

 Extended School Year (ESY)

Applications are now being accepted for the 2016 Extended School Year (ESY).  Applications must be postmarked or received by the end of the day on March 2, 2016.  Interviews will begin approximately March 14, 2016.  To apply, please complete one of the applications below.  Please remember to include your email address and signature.  Promptly return the completed application to Stephenie Bowman at the SEAPCO Central Office as directed below:

 Life Skills Education Coordinator

Camp Big Sky is now accepting resumes from qualified applicants for a seasonal opportunity as our Life Skills Coordinator.

This position is responsible for the management of all educational programs that teach important life skills to children and adults with disabilities at our camp located near Farmington, Illinois.

Individuals with previous education/special education experience are preferred. Interested parties should forward their resumes and inquires to (electronic paperwork is encouraged):

  In the News 

  • In honor of international STOMP Out Bullying Day on October 5, Seapco Academy Staff all wore Blue. The students also wore blue.

  • SEAPCO staff had the opportunity to attend the Picture Exchange Communication System (PEC'S Training).  The Peoria Autism Society donated $500.00 of PECS materials for staff to use in their classrooms.

  • SEAPCO is proud to have an active STEP Program that offers work experiences to our older students.  This program is also available to young adults who are graduates and find they need assistance getting jobs.  To read more about the SEAPCO experience please follow this link:  Step Program
